In our development department, we ensure continuous improvements and process optimization. We carefully follow the requirements of the market and our customers. We develop our own software and tools to detect and fix faults and defects in different motors more efficiently and quickly. This reduces costs and production downtime.
Development Department
The Development Department was set up in February 2016, mainly due to the need to develop our own test equipment, which was not available on the open market. As the Matris Service Centre always aims for higher quality and faster response, the Development Department is also actively involved in the servicing process.

Modular diagnostic equipment for predictive maintenance of servomotors
Within the framework of the project, we will develop a completely new methodology, new tools, and building blocks for predictive maintenance and the reduction of production downtime.
The purpose of the project entitled “Modular diagnostic equipment for predictive maintenance of servomotors” is the development, manufacture, and commercialization of completely new high-tech equipment with high added value, which does not yet exist on the market in such a form. The new device will enable faster identification of faults and thus shorten machine downtime, contributing to better productivity, cost-efficiency, and the overall efficiency of production processes in companies.
The goal of the project is to develop equipment that will analyze the operation of servomotors directly in the machine tool and robotic cells with the aim of faster identification of possible servomotor faults in production. An advanced machine learning algorithm will analyze input parameters, compare them with the existing fault database, and inform the service technician of a possible fault via the cloud.

Development of innovative "waste-to-value" technologies for sustainable rare earth recycling and multi-value magnet recycling
The project enables sustainable transformation of rare earth-containing waste into high-performance Nd-Fe-B magnets using innovative waste-to-value technologies. The main objectives of the project are to enable high-efficiency REE classification and extraction, produce high-purity metallic precursors, and design next-generation magnets for electromobility needs.
Duration: 1 April 2026 – 31 May 2029
The total estimated project value is EUR 8,069,708.00, with co-financing amounting to EUR 4,999,305.75.
The operation was selected for co-financing under the Public Call “Promoting the implementation of research and development programmes (TRL 3-6)” (RD PROGRAMMES PUBLIC CALL (TRL 3-6)).
The operation is partially financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund and the budget of the Republic of Slovenia.
