These differences stem from the distinct construction of the motor.   Key highlights:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Motor structure and components<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>In addition to the stator and rotor windings, <strong>DC motors<\/strong> also feature a <strong>commutator<\/strong> and <strong>brushes<\/strong>, which are used to transfer current to the rotor winding. Consequently, DC motors are more susceptible to wear on these components. <\/li>\n<li><strong>DC motor servicing<\/strong> often includes brush replacement, commutator cleaning (specifically removing carbon residue from the brushes and milling the insulation between segments), as well as checking the condition of the commutator (ovality) and the rotor. Occasionally, it is necessary to rebuild the commutator if it is damaged. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Prevention and troubleshooting of brush issues<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Brushes in DC motors wear out over time, which can lead to motor malfunction, increased temperatures, and noise. <strong>DC motor servicing<\/strong> includes regular inspections of the brushes and commutator, as their wear affects the motor&#8217;s reliability. Over time, damage can occur on the commutator (such as protrusions, wear, or scoring), which can lead to a breakdown between the segments. <\/li>\n<li>A damaged commutator is typically turned to achieve a new surface and precise ovality.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Heating and cooling<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Since DC motors utilize forced cooling, it is necessary to regularly check the cleanliness of the filters; otherwise, environmental contaminants can enter the motor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong> Maintenance and lifespan<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>DC motors<\/strong> require more intensive maintenance due to the wear of brushes and the commutator.
